Sunray Saunas FAQ's

General

Sunray saunas are based and shipped from Richmond, Virginia. The typical lead time for shipping is between 7 to 9 days, depending on your location. You will be contacted by the shipping company to schedule a delivery appointment.

All saunas are shipped via truck freight, with curbside and lift-gate delivery service included. Saunas are securely packed on wooden pallets with protective bracing. You will be contacted by the shipping company to schedule a delivery appointment. For special delivery needs, contact customer service.

Sunray saunas can be assembled by two adults in about 1-2 hours. No special tools are needed, but outdoor saunas may require a ladder and basic tools such as a drill and Phillips head screwdriver.

Sunray saunas require a dedicated circuit. For traditional saunas, a 240V circuit is necessary, while most infrared models typically use a 120V circuit. Always check the product’s specification page for the exact power requirements.

Ensure there are at least 3-4 inches of clearance between the top of your sauna and the ceiling. This space allows for proper air circulation to cool the sauna’s electrical components.

All Sunray saunas, regardless of being traditional or infrared, come with a 7-year structural warranty and a 1-year parts warranty, which covers electronic components and heater elements.

It’s recommended to clean your sauna every 3-4 months, or more frequently if used regularly. Wipe down the interior with a mixture of 3 teaspoons of baking soda to 1 gallon of warm water. Focus on areas where sweat accumulates. Allow the sauna to air dry by leaving the door open, and clean the glass with an ammonia-based cleaner.

All sauna models have a ceiling vent that helps circulate heat and allows moisture to escape, especially when used as a steam sauna. This vent can also be used to lower the sauna temperature without opening the door.

All saunas come equipped with Bluetooth functionality. Once powered on, the sauna automatically sends a Bluetooth signal that can be connected via your phone's Bluetooth settings under "BT-Sauna."

We recommend placing your outdoor sauna on a sturdy, level base. A waterproof vapor barrier should be used between the foundation and the bottom of the sauna to prevent moisture infiltration.

Outdoor Sunray saunas feature a waterproof coating to resist moisture. It is advised to reapply this waterproof coating annually to maintain water resistance. Additional ceiling insulation is not required, though you may add it to help retain heat in extreme weather conditions.

Infrared

Infrared Sunray saunas can reach temperatures up to 140°F. If it's an outdoor model please note that colder weather may affect the time it takes to reach this temperature. It is not recommended to use the sauna in extreme cold conditions (below 0°F).

Infrared saunas typically take 20-40 minutes to heat up, depending on the ambient room temperature and the size of the sauna.

All indoor infrared saunas come with a power cord and plug for plug and play operation. Please note that the power requirements differ by sauna model. Outdoor saunas are equipped with a power cord only. The customer is responsible for attaching the correct plug to the sauna cord based on the amperage requirement.

Traditional

Traditional saunas can reach a maximum temperature of 170°F, typically staying between 160-170°F.

Traditional saunas take about 30-45 minutes to heat up, depending on the room temperature and the size of the sauna.

Traditional saunas come with a power cord attached to the heater, but it doesn’t have a plug. You’ll need to hard-wire it into a junction box or attach a plug based on the power needs of your sauna model.
